“Rock beats Scissors, Scissors beats Paper, Paper beats Rock
Two computers playing rock-paper-scissors. Each has its own random algorithm running, choosing one of the three possible items. Connected by an ethernet cable, each computer plays its hand — the winning pc gets a point.” weAREmedienkuenstler
Just found this artistic duo: artist Nobuyuki Hanabusa and dancer Katsumi Sakakura, or Kagemu. This video shows (a part of, I guess) their show Black Sun, where they combine motion graphics and modern dance, inspired by Japanese martial arts. The video begins with Sakakura interacting with abstract digital figures, breaking digitally the wall / screen behind him and fighting with his own shadow, all with energetic and strong music. Enjoy (or for more videos, check on YouTube).
For more works by Hanabusa (and Kagemu) you can visit Hanabusa’s website hana-busa.jp (mainly in Japanese).
I’ve just read a post on Cineuropa, that the Sarajevo Film Festival will have a tribute to Cristi Puiu. Some of his films will be shown in Sarajevo between 16th and 24th August. I particularly insist to see one of them, The Death of Mr Lazarescu (Moartea Domnului Lazarescu). It’s a comedy with a Balkan taste and fascinating, adorable humour (at least that’s what you get from the trailer. I really have the feeling that at the end is going to be much more..).
So if you’re in Sarajevo at that time, please, please, please, tell me how it was because I don’t know if and how I’m gonna make it there…
P.S.: If you have been in Bucharest, you will know what the Parliament joke actually means. (Or just check the Romanian Parliament on wikipedia).
I’ve just watched a very fun stop motion short video about the history of typography made by graphic designer Ben Barrett-Forrest. It looks very cool :) All the Info about it is in the YouTube description. You can also visit Barrett-Forrest’s website forestmedia.org.
What is it about robots that they are so… well today they are not that intelligent, but the idea of an AI is fascinating. It’s philosophical. Existential.
Anyway this video is nothing special. As it looks like just an ad idea for Prometheus (which as I heard is not that good. I’m not interested anyway). But… two words: Michael Fassbender.
i didn’t check what this is all about, but it’s amazingly fun :D
